2026 EVENTS
There are 14 annual events NIWA participates in each year.
There are two ways members can participate in events: IN-PERSON and BOOKS ONLY.
IN-PERSON PARTICIPATION:
Members who participate in IN-PERSON are permitted to bring extra copies of their books to the event to sell should, while they are working, the copies on the table sell out. At the end of their shift, ALL EXTRA COPIES must be taken home with them. Only the event limit can be left on the table. (see Books Only) It is the hope that staffing members will do their very best to sell ALL the books on the table, and not just their own.
An additional perk, members who sign up to take the LEAD for the event and who work the entire event, including set-up and tear-down, will be credited 100% of their table fees* after the event (included with their sales payout).
Staffing members who work will receive a credit after the event with payouts based on the percentage they work, 1/2-day staff will be credited 50% of their table fees*, full day staff members will be credited 75%*.
*minus Square/PayPal fees
BOOKS ONLY PARTICIPATION:
Members who participate BOOKS ONLY will have a cap on the number of copies of each book/title that are sent to the event based on historical sales and the number of days of the event.
For example:
1-day events will have 2-3 copies sent
2-day events will have 3-4 copies sent
4-day events will have up to 6 copies sent.

Note: members who wish to participate IN-PERSON:
If you are unable to work the event you signed up for do not wait until the last minute to inform the Events Director. Additionally, should you have to cancel, you will not receive any credits. Your books can still go to the event but will fall under the rules for BOOKS ONLY.

The first step, which applies to everyone, figure out how many of your different books/titles you are planning on promoting/selling this year. Then choose a Table Fee Plan that fits.

There are 2 plans:
- Option A) Pay as you go - register your books and assign them to whichever event you wish to participate in. Then pay your table fees for that event.
- Option B) for those members who have 1 to 6 titles they plan on selling. You can register your book and prepay to have your book sent to ALL EVENTS.
