Angela L. Keith
Angela L Keith lives and writes in Salem, Oregon. When not schlepping around her two kids and chunky corgi, she loves to read, practice yoga, and prefers salty chips to chocolate cake because she is a weirdo.
NIWA: First, please tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know.
Angela: I can't stand peanut butter mixed with chocolate. Sorry! No Reece's for me!
NIWA: What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever written?
Angela: When I was in elementary school I wrote a story about a man who took his two dogs for a walk and they fell through a crater into another dimension where dogs could talk. It was called The Long Walk with the Dogs. Now, I fully understand this is not a weird concept-a story where animals can talk in another dimension, but for me, who writes contemporary young adult, and it having been the mid-90's, it was weird.
NIWA: Would you rather achieve fame or fortune? Why?
Angela: Hmm. Both come with complications. Fame you're always having to watch everything you do because the internet is a cruel cruel place sometimes, and with fortune, people come out of the woodworks asking for money they think they're owed. However, that being said, I'd rather have fortune because I could pay off my debts and I'd use any amount necessary to pay off the lunch debt of any kid in school because I strongly believe school lunch should be free for all.
NIWA: If you had to quit writing, what would you do instead?
Angela: Study linguistics.
NIWA: What genre would you never write?
Angela: Romance. Having to write romance scenes gives me the giggles.

THE SECRETS WE KEEP
Angela L. Keith
Genre: Young Adult
At Marshall Academy, you’re either part of the elite, living in luxury, or you’re like eighteen-year-old Margo Adams, a transfer student on an Alumni Scholarship, from a part of town known as “felony flats.”
The only things that make the school tolerable are running, and her loyal friends who’ve never cared about her socioeconomic status. But Margo hasn’t been completely honest with them about her life before transferring, and a school assignment is about to force her to come clean.
Further complicating matters, Margo’s fallen for the most popular boy in school, and tries to keep the relationship on the down-low, afraid it will upset the status quo. As keeping yet another secret from her friends becomes strenuous, she’ll have to decide which secrets are actually worth keeping, and how to open herself up without being crushed by her own pride.
