Richard Lewis is a retired academic, a medievalist by training (Ph.D, University of Wisconsin-Madison) who lives and writes in Portland, Oregon. He values especially the surviving human meaning to be found in medieval-based stories. His novel, Falcon, The Whole Story of Sir Gawain and Green Knight, was published in the fall of 2025 by BookBaby. He has an unpublished collection of ten stories set in medieval England, Doomsday: Ten Stories of Piety and People. He has published a chapbook of sonnets, How Things Are, with Finishing Line Press of Georgetown, Kentucky, and has self-published a chapbook of Christmas sonnets, called, well, The Christmas Sonnets.
