I'm looking at your book book, The Unwitting Journeys of the Witty Miss Livingstone: Journey Key, from where did you draw your inspiration for this book?
I've always loved time travel and trains. When I moved to Snoq ualmie Valley, WA a decade ago, the train museum and restored depot caught my imagination. A fusing of the history of this place with a steampunk story was a natural, and Miss Livingstone emerged when I dressed for author, Jeffrey Cook's Dawn of Steam: First Light release party. Once she was conceived, I couldn't hold her back. I'm thoroughly enjoying writing her 5 book story.

RAVEN'S WING
by Shawna Reppert

Reviewed by
William J. Cook

Rated: 5 Star

Just when the Three Communities (Art, Craft, and Mundane) think they are safe, the Ravensblood is stolen. After Raven had used the artifact to vanquish the dark mage William (Book 1), he had turned it over to the Gua rdians for safekeeping. But the unthinkable has happened and the Ravensblood is gone. Though Raven had been pardoned for his past involvement with William and has been helping the Guardians to combat magical crime, he emerges as the prime suspect in the theft and must flee for his life. His only friends are a small group of Guardians who call themselves the Raven's Wing. They believe he is innocent and are willing to risk all to help him recover the lost stone. Since he is the only one of them with a living connection to the Ravensblood, he is the one who must find it before its powers can be turned to serve another's evil purposes.

Yes, we are back in alternative Portland, where magic is as real (and ordinary) as ordering a beverage from Starbucks. It's that "normalcy" that draws us in, makes us believe this world. Another of the strengths of the author's writing is her character development. Raven and his Guardian lover Cass are richly drawn and psychologically complex, torn by fear and deceit and betrayal. We care for them and what they do. Ms. Reppert has treated us to another delight in her urban fantasy series. Enjoy!
