The year is 2115. The great quakes of the Cascadia Subduction Zone have all but destroyed civilization. The Elk Creek Tribe, located just south of the Oregon border in the state of Lincoln, is a last bastion of community. Into this world comes eighteen year old Jamari. When he decides to enter the Manhood Rites in order to become a fully participating citizen in his tribe, he begins a tale of stunning proportions. To succeed he must face great physical challenge. He must demonstrate mental and emotional competence. But most of all, he must face his own spirit within.
